French broadcaster TV5MONDE to stream Top 14 for free in Ireland and UK
Free live coverage of key Top 14 fixtures, play-offs, semi-finals and final available to stream across Ireland and the UK on TV5MONDE.
TV5MONDE has confirmed to Rugby Broadcast that the French broadcaster will once again provide free coverage of the Top 14 in Ireland and the UK this season, including the final.
The coverage begins this Saturday, with live coverage of Stade Francais v Pau at 1:30pm.
TV5MONDE will also show one fixture from each of the last four rounds of the regular season on 9 May, 16 May, and 30 May (all kicking off at 1:30pm Irish & UK time) and 6 June (8pm kick-off).
The agreement also includes free live coverage of the play-offs, semi-finals and the final, which will be held on Saturday 27 June 2026 at the Stade de France.
All fixtures are available to stream for free in both Ireland and the UK on the TV5MONDE website and app. The commentary for all fixtures is in French.
The Rugby Broadcast take
The Top 14 continues to go from strength to strength and is by far the biggest club rugby competition in the world. The league’s existing domestic TV deal with Canal+ is worth €113.6 million per season. A new agreement with Canal+ starts in 2027 and is worth an impressive €128.7 million per season. TV5MONDE has been showcasing this package of fixtures for the past number of seasons, ensuring that viewers in Ireland and the UK have the opportunity to watch the most exciting part of the season for free. This is a smart play for the Top 14 and allows the league to reach fans who don’t subscribe to Premier Sports.
This deal with TV5MONDE comes at a time when the Ligue Nationale de Rugby (LNR) is making a concerted effort to increase the visibility and popularity of the Top 14. In 2025 the LNR launched a DTC global streaming service, Top 14 Rugby TV, which is primarily available in regions without an existing broadcast deal.
