November internationals
Premier Sports has confirmed to Rugby Broadcast that the UK and Ireland broadcaster has acquired the broadcast rights to a number of November internationals.
The coverage starts this Saturday at 1:10pm, as the Barbarians take on the All Blacks XV at Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, with live coverage on Premier Sports 1 in the UK.
Later on Saturday at 4:10pm, South Africa’s Northern Hemisphere tour begins with a clash against Eddie Jones’ Japan at Wembley Stadium, with coverage from 4:00pm on Premier Sports 2 in both Ireland and the UK. This will be the fourth time that the sides have met and the third since Japan’s infamous win against the South Africans at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, when Eddie Jones was also in charge of the Brave Blossoms.
England A
Premier Sports will also broadcast England A’s fixture against the All Blacks XV on Saturday 8 November, with live coverage from the Rec at Bath from 1:05pm on Premier Sports 1 in the UK.
Commitment to live rugby
Richard Sweeney, CEO of Premier Sports UK said:
“We’re delighted to add three high profile international rugby fixtures to our rugby coverage giving added value to our UK rugby customers and bringing fans more from the global game. We’ve had a strong start to the URC and Top 14 rugby seasons and with the excitement of our international club rugby coverage just around the corner as Investec Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup kicks off on December 5th - rugby remains front and centre of Premier Sports’ expanding live sports coverage every weekend.”

The Rugby Broadcast take
Premier Sports continues to invest heavily in rugby, and this announcement further strengthens its impressive rugby portfolio – adding to an existing lineup that already includes the URC, Top 14, Investec Champions Cup and more. With the Champions Cup fast approaching, this is a smart move by the broadcaster to entice England-based fans to sign up ahead of the return of European Cup action. For existing subscribers, it adds even more value to a growing list of broadcast rights.
